Mrs. Hazel Cason Dies at Her Home

Mrs. Hazel Cason, 71, 1031 North Union, died at home late Thursday morning after a several – month illness.

Mrs. Cason, the former Miss Hazel Smith, was born in Carroll County, Missouri, June 9, 1883, and was married to Louis R. Cason November 18, 1903 at Lincoln, Nebraska. They came to Ponca City shortly after their marriage and made their home here since that time. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Cason, who died in November, 1950, was engaged in the furniture and real estate business here and for a time operated a restaurant.

Mrs. Cason is survived by a son, Roy, 1027 N. Union; three daughters, Mrs. R. R. Gentry, 811 N. Ash, Mrs. J. D. Rogers, 1520 W. Cherry, and Mrs. Harry Odle of Murray, Utah.

Funeral services are pending, according to the E. M. Trout and Sons Funeral Home.

Services for Cason Planned for Monday

Funeral services for Louis R. Cason, 1031 North Union St., will be held Monday at 2:30 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Lonnie Smith officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in I00F Cemetery.

Cason, a Ponca City resident for 50 years, died Thursday at his home. He had been in ill health since May. He was 73.

He had been in the hotel and furniture business here, retiring 10 years ago.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, members of which will serve as pallbearers.

E. M. Trout and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
