Wylidene Brewer
June 14, 1927 - January 26, 2024

Wylidene Brewer went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Friday morning, January 26th, 2024. Viewing will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with family present from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday January 31, 2024, at Sunset Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Wylidene was born in Big Flat, Arkansas, on June 14, 1927, to Sam Treat and Tina Treat Moore. On September 5, 1941, Wylidene married her best friend and love of her life, Coy Brewer, in Onia, Arkansas, where they made their home until 1943. At that time they moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma with Coy's beloved seven sisters and brothers. Wylidene and Coy were blessed with three daughters, Sheron, Judie, and Helen.

Wylidene could always be found next to her husband's side. They did everything together, whether it was renovating houses, gardening, or fishing. When asked later in life what she did to have such a deep, long lasting, and loving marriage, Wylidene attributed it to always spending time together, and to the fact that she "just loved him and he loved her."

In 1977, they returned to the Ozark mountains where they enjoyed retirement. They continued to spend their days by each other's side, gardening, growing blueberries and strawberries, maintaining an orchard, and even stretching barbed wire. They spent countless hours in the garden and could often be found on the sun porch snapping beans or shucking corn. Summer evenings were spent sitting on the porch together listening to the sound of the whippoorwills.

In 1985, Coy and Wylidene moved back to Oklahoma and settled in Newkirk to be near their grandchildren. While in Newkirk they once again established a garden and orchard. Wylidene cherished time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to have family visit so that she could cook for them and enjoy their company.

Wylidene exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a determined, hard worker providing for family and friends. She had many talents. She handmade all her daughters' clothes, was a master at refinishing and reupholstering furniture, and designed and made draperies. She worked with her husband to renovate homes and raise a garden that produced enough to feed all her family and friends. She faithfully served at her church by teaching vacation Bible school and organizing and cooking for fellowships. She loved hosting visiting ministers. Wylidene served her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren well. All of whom "rise and call her blessed".

Wylidene is preceded in heaven by her husband of sixty-four years, Coy Brewer; father, Sam Treat; mother, Tina Treat Moore; step-father, Willis Moore; and sisters, Delpha Deene Moore Passmore and Hazel Moore Lee.

Survivors include: her daughters, Sheron Carter (husband, Bobby), Judie Henderson (husband, Bob), Helen Cassity (husband, Bradley); grandchildren, Lisa Wallis (husband, Greg), Malynda Henderson Tally, Kim Carter Nesmith, Sonja Cassity Jones, Spike Henderson (wife, Jennifer), Tonja Cassity Ripple (husband,Jake); great grandchildren, Tyler Nesmith, Sean Wallis (wife, Jamie), Carter Nesmith, Erin Wallis Russell (husband Chase), Whitney Tally, Adison Cassity Spray (husband, Clayton), Paige Henderson, Jentry Hickson, Grace Jones, Hope Henderson, McCoy Jones, and Chloe Henderson.
