Helen M. Shupe, of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, April 3, 1991, at her home. She was 74.
Born Dec. 27, 1916 at Mervine, Okla., she was the daughter of Franklin Albert and Mary (Nelson) Paulson.
On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Ralph O. Shupe at Newkirk. Mrs. Shupe worked at the Kay County Court House in the Court Clerk's office and the OSU Extension Office for 40 years. After retiring, in 1968, she moved to Arkansas City where she was a member of the Blessing Heights Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph, of the home; one son, Dr. Russell D. Shupe of Ponca City; one daughter, Jan McHargue of Arkansas City; one sister, Hazel Wood Johnston of Arkansas City; three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Doris James.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. today, at Blessing Heights Church of God with Floyd Saffell officiating. Burial was at the Newkirk Cemetery.
