NEWKIRK-- Funeral services for Arthur E. Shupe, 81, who died in Riverside Hospital Saturday at 12:30 a.m., will be held in the Stahl Funeral Home in Newkirk Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Newkirk Cemetery.
Mr. Shupe, born April 14, 1882 in Tennessee, moved to Oklahoma during the run in 1893 and lived on a farm near Blackwell before moving to Newkirk in 1946, after retirement from farming.
Mrs. Shupe preceded him in death on March 31, 1959.
His survivors include one step-daughter, Mrs. Thelma Stoll of Nardin; two grandchildred and one great-grandchild

SERVICES FRIDAY AT NEWKIRK FOR MRS. SHUPE, 78
NEWKIRK-- Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Belle Shupe, 78, who died Tuesday at 10:25 p.m. at Maple View Manor after an extended illness, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Christian Church here.
Rev. Russell Towry will officiate and burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery under direction of Stahl Funeral service.
Mrs. Shupe was born in Cowley County, Kans. June 7, 1880. She was married to Arthur Shupe at Winfield, Kans., in 1921 and made her home near Peckham, later moving to Newkirk. She was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors are her husband of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Erma Chitwood, Blackwell and Mrs. Thelma Stoll, Nardin; two brothers, William Beard, Oxford, Kans., and Luther Beard, Wichita; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Darnell, Winfield, and Mrs. Rettie Hartman, Wichita, and three grandchildren.
