November 29, 1955 - July 30, 2020
Danna Susan Raissiannejad (Gaston), 64, was welcomed home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2020. She was born to Danny Bain Gaston and Anita Grace Nelson on Nov. 29, 1955 in Fort Bragg, NC.
She graduated from Del City High School and married William E. Latham “Smokey” (Deceased) and then found the love of her life and married Abdi Raissiannejad in 1982. Danna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Neil Gaston.
Danna was a devoted mother to 2 children and a loving “mother figure” to many throughout her life. She spent her career doing many things she loved, but most of all she loved being a restaurant owner of The Buffalo Grill and cooking for others. She recently retired from OU Health Science Center in 2019 after 14 years. Danna’s greatest gift to all she met was LOVE. She loved fiercely and deeply and loved having grandchildren the most.
Danna is survived by one brother, Dan Gaston and wife Susan of Newalla; her husband of almost 40 years, Abdi, of OKC; two children, Chelsea Morning Murray and husband Shawn, of Holt, FL, Jordan Clausen Latham of OKC, and Daughter in Love, Dawn Furthmeyer of Choctaw; and by her grandchildren, Mason and Logan Latham of Choctaw, Samantha and Alexandra Murray of Holt, FL and Alex Martin of OKC. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, whom she considered her sister in her heart, Liz Van Dyke of Corpus Christie, TX.
We will celebrate her life full of love with a graveside service on Monday, August 3, 1:00pm at Newkirk Cemetery, Newkirk, OK.
