Cecil C. "Mike" McIntyre, age 82, resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Ponca City. A graveside ceremony to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Newkirk Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mike was born on January 3, 1935 to Hugh F. McIntyre and Claribelle Parker McIntyre in Newkirk, OK. He was raised in Newkirk, graduating from high school there in 1953. Shortly after high school, he married Mary Ellen McKerracher. In 1956, Mike joined the U.S. Army before being discharged from the reserves in 1962. In 1962, he married Peggy Bain. Lula "Frances" Burdell and Mike were married on March 7, 1988 and LaDonna Johnstone became his wife on June 16, 2008. Mike was a maintenance man for various places in Kay County through the years working for the cities of Newkirk, Ponca City, and Tonkawa, as well as for NOC, Pioneer Technology Center, and the Ponca City Housing Authority, most recently as the Maintenance worker for the Broadway Plaza before retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Ladonna McIntyre, of Ponca City, sons, Cecil McIntyre and wife Bobby LeAnn of Cameron, NC, Michael Lee McIntyre and daughter Glenda Mae of Derby, KS., and nephew Kevin McIntyre.
Preceded in death by his parents, wives, brothers George and John McIntyre and sister Maurine Bacher.
