James Robert Maupin was born July 9, 1959 in Ponca City, OK to Gary Robert and Elizabeth (Wanko) Maupin. He died November 20, 2021 in Newkirk, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Francis Catholic Church 610 W 9th St, Newkirk, OK 74647, with Father Zak Boazman officiating.

James grew up in Newkirk, OK, graduating from Newkirk High School in 1977. After graduating, Jimmy went to work at Kay Electric where he began his 38 year career as a journeyman lineman, working his way up to line foreman, and eventually becoming Director of Operations before his retirement in June 2020.

Jimmy married Taffy Bliss in 1980 and to this union, 2 children were born, Brandi and Misti. In 1996, he met the love of his life Dede Larimer. Into this union, he gained a third daughter, Lacie. Jimmy and Dede just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on November 8, 2021. Jimmy loved his grandchildren Lauren, Drake, Reese, Grant, Connor, and one on the way, due May of 2022.

Jimmy loved all things fishing, hunting, air boating, and traveling. While enjoying his hobbies, Jimmy met many lifelong friends. He never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his belly laugh and smile. He will be greatly missed by many. Rest high and give Lea a hug for us.

He is survived by his parents Liz and Gary Maupin of Newkirk, OK, wife Dede Maupin of the home, daughter Brandi Glaser and husband Matt of Morrison, OK, daughter Misti Rausch and husband Cory of Kaw City, OK, daughter Lacie Holman and husband Drew of Newkirk, OK, sister Lisa Maupin of Newkirk, OK, sister Brenda Choate and husband Scott, of Ponca City, OK, special hunting buddy Ashton Hile of Ponca City, OK, lifelong friend Randy Smith of Tulsa, OK, mother-in-law Mary Larimer of Ponca City, OK, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Spencer and Karen Larimer of Stillwater, OK, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lisa and BarryDuke of Ponca City, OK, grandmother Thelma Larimer of Ponca City, fur babies Chloe and Acee, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jimmy is preceded in death by sister Lea Beth Meyer, grandparents Bob and Thelma Maupin, grandparents John and Helen Wanko, and father-in-law Dwight Spencer Larimer.
