January 29, 1961 - February 11, 2019

Mark Stephen Carson, resident of Ponca City,Mark Stephen Carson, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Monday morning, February 11, 2019 at the Ponca City Hospital. He was 58 years old. Mark was born on January 29, 1961 in Ponca City to his parents, Leroy and Barbara Carson. He grew up in Ponca City and attended Garfield Elementary School, East Jr. High School, and was a 1979 graduate of Ponca City High School. After high school, Mark worked at Conoco Phillips in numerous contractual positions for over 20 years.

Mark enjoyed playing sports in school and with his family while growing up and was especially fond of football. He spent a lot of time at sporting events over the years cheering on his siblings, and in recent years his nieces and nephews. Mark also enjoyed cooking and spending time outdoors, but he especially liked to fish and play golf when he had the opportunity. Most of all Mark liked spending time with his family. He was a very loyal person and would do anything he could to help a family member. Mark would give the shirt off of his back to help a family member in need. He greatly enjoyed spending time with all of his nieces and nephews and was very proud of each of them.

Mark will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Leroy R. Carson. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Kay Carson (Weber) of Ponca City, brother, Mike Carson and wife Mary of Ponca City, brother, Greg Carson and wife Kelly of Austin, TX, brother, Jeff Carson of Ponca City, and sister, Debbie Malham and husband Jeff of Broken Arrow, OK.

A funeral ceremony for Mark will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Following the ceremony, Mark will be laid to rest at Newkirk Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, February 14, 2019 until 8:00 pm.

Casket Bearers will be: Michael Carson, Brandon Carson, Cale Carson, Britt Weber, Brian Deibler, and Jeff Malham.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
