Leonard Orval Ross
February 9, 1945 - September 23, 2025
Leonard Orval Ross, 80, of Broken Arrow, OK, left this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. Viewing will be between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, Monday, September 29, 2025, at Trout Funeral Home. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, September 29, 2025, at Newkirk Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Leonard was born on Friday, February 9, 1945, in Ponca City, OK, to Leonard B. and Margaret (Hayes) Ross. After high school, he married Carol Turner on June 18, 1966, in Arkansas City, KS. He was a veteran of the Oklahoma National Guard. Most of his career was spent as a heavy equipment operator. He also was an excellant auto mechanic. He was instrumental in the development of a section at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, where he worked for many years. Leonard and Carol belonged to the Old Timers Square Dancing Club. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be truly missed.
Leonard is survived by: his wife, Carol of Broken Arrow, OK; children, Christine Headrick and her husband, Michael, of Broken Arrow, OK, Leonard Allen Ross and his wife, Becki, of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Paula Hendricks and Sean Maher of Midwest City, OK, Cody Ross of Wichita, KS, Seth Isbell of Broken Arrow, OK, Steven Ross of Wichita, KS, David Isbell of Kellyville, OK, Joshua Headrick of Broken Arrow, OK; great-grandchildren, Kayley Pritchett, and Lyla Maher; and brother, Ernie Ross and his wife, Donna, of Verdigris, OK; He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Margaret.
Pallbearers will be Leonard A. Ross, Mike Headrick, Cody Ross, Steven Ross, David Isbell, and Sean Maher. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ernie Ross.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Lung Association, 710 W Wilshire Blvd #101, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
