Charlotte "Jean" Roberts of Newkirk, OK, passed away on Sunday morning, September 11th, 2022, at the Alliance Hospital in Ponca City, OK. Viewing is open to the public on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, September 16th, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Newkirk. Burial will follow at Newkirk Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Charlotte Jean Stephens was born on August 17th, 1942 in Clinton, OK to George William and Elizabeth Ruth Stephens. She lived with her family in Clinton, Custer City, Watonga, Fredrick, and finally settled in Hobart where she attended high school. She met the love of her life, Lanio Roberts at a school carnival in Craterville, Ok in May 1958. They were married on December 24th, 1958 and resided in Altus where he was employed by United Supermarket. In the next few years, they were blessed with three beautiful girls, Cindi Charyl, Crystal Denise, and Jaquetta Ivonne.

They traveled with United Supermarket until they landed in Ponca City in 1973. After receiving her license to be a licensed Practical Nurse, she went to work as a Surgical Scrub Nurse at the Ponca City Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Billy Irons as an office nurse. In 1977, they moved to Newkirk and purchased the Dairy Queen and worked there together until she returned to nursing. She went to work for Dr. Jane Thomason until her retirement in 2002.

After retirement she pursued photography, painting, and making porcelain dolls. She enjoyed the latter so much she created a business out of their garage. At Jean's Dolls, she taught others the art of creating porcelain dolls and other ceramics. When Lanio retired, they purchased an RV and spent part of the winters in Harlingen, TX at the Fig Tree RV Park. There, they made many friends and even more memories. Jean was a member of the Red Hat Ladies of Ponca City and always enjoyed their monthly lunch meetings. Jean had a great love for her family and always cooked large meals for her family's Sunday dinners.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, George, her mother, Ruth, her husband, Lanio, her sister Addie Smith of Bethany, OK, her daughters Cindi Wathor, Crystal Douglas, and her son in law, Michael Wathor.

She is survived by: her baby sister, Debbie Westbrook of Sophia, NC; her youngest daughter, Jaquetta (Jackie) Bradley of Newkirk; her grandchildren, Shannon Wathor and wife, Jessica, of Newkirk, Corbi Wathor and wife, Desiree of Newkirk, Candice Robertson and husband, Chris, of Dexter, KS, Jessica "Sassy" Wathor of Newkirk, Steven Bradley and wife, Kristi, of Edmond, Mitchell Douglas of Ponca City, Reece Douglas of Edmond, Emily Douglas of Ponca City, and Kyle Bradley and wife, Elizabeth "Biz", of Cleveland, OK. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Gage Wathor and fiance, Bailee Morgan, of Newkirk, Mason Wathor of Newkirk, Wyatt Wathor of Newkirk, Hannah Overbey of Hays, KS, Alysa Overbey of Wichita, KS, Alexander "Xander" Overbey of Dexter, KS, Morgan Wathor of Newkirk, Madison Wathor of Newkirk, Laina Wathor of Newkirk, Sydney Bradley of Edmond, Grant Bradley of Edmond, and one great-great-granddaughter, Rainie Wathor of Newkirk, OK.

She leaves behind many broken hearts and countless tears shed in her remembrance.
