The beginning of eternity began, Tuesday, September 15, 2020, for Raymond W. Miller lifetime resident of Nardin, Oklahoma.
Raymond was born on the family farm northwest of Nardin on May 13, 1929 to Harold W. and Lena S. (Klofkorn) Miller. He grew up on that farm, where his Granddaughter now resides, attending Clare, a one room school through 8th grade. He graduated from Deer Creek High School with the Class of 1947. On June 25, 1950, he entered the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge on July 27, 1953.
After his discharge he returned to Grant County and the family agricultural business. Raymond married Wanda Nell Campbell on January 24, 1956 in Blackwell, OK and together they had 2 children. He lived the farmer’s life his entire life raising wheat and cattle, while living on the farm where his Grandson now resides. As a young man, Raymond worked at Boeing in Wichita while continuing to grow the farming operation. He was extremely proud of having two Oklahoma Centennial Farms. He enjoyed drinking coffee at the Coop, driving around to check out what everyone was doing, and eating Darrell’s famous popcorn while watching Thunder games.
Survivors include a daughter Judy Paige and husband Randy, Daughter-in-law Rhonda Miller, Grandchildren Matthew Miller (Stacee), Alissa Emery (Dan), and Mark Miller (Ciara) all of Nardin. Jonathan Paige (Steph) of Perth, Australia, Ryker Paige of Glenwood Springs, Co. Great-grandchildren Meeka Miller, Cambrin Miller, Tynlee Ward-Clark, Dakota Emery (Felix), Dashaela Nations (Dillon), Destiny Davis, and Dailyn Emery. Great-great-grandchildren Grayson, Amaris, Dalton, and Daisy. And a sister Dorothy Logan of Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his son Allen Miller, two brothers Marvin and Kenneth Miller, and his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 10 am.
