Catherine Marie Butzback of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Sunday morning, July 7, 2019, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at the age of 73 years.
Catherine Marie Butzback was born on December 25, 1945, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Dale Luther and Earline Rebecca (Carr) Spruill. She grew up in Tonkawa and attended Tonkawa Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1963. She furthered her education by attending nursing school in Oklahoma City. In 1969 she married Billy Francis Butzback in Newkirk and they settled in Tonkawa before moving to Blackwell. She worked as a nurse for the Blackwell Nursing Home for over twenty-five years. Her husband preceded her in death in 2002 and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tonkawa. She enjoyed gardening, camping, taking care of her animals and her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jeff Butzback of Blackwell; four sisters, Cindy Martin of Blackwell, Linda Smith of Drummonds, Tennessee, Jean Spruill of Bristow, and Rose Nafranovich of Kechi, Kansas; ten grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy John Butzback; a daughter, Rebecca Marie “Squeak” Butzback; a daughter-in-law, Janet Butzback; two brothers, Nolan and Ronnie Spruill; and three sisters, Sherry Martin, Billie Kersey and Linda Anscian.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12th in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma, with Rev. Bill McKissick of the First Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the American Diabetes Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
