Joe Charles DAVIS

Mount Olive Cemetery

Joe Charles Davis
November 20, 1952 - July 22, 2024

Joe Charles Davis of Nardin, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. He was ready to send one last load of calves to the Cherokee Livestock Auction, but couldn't make it to meet the truck that day. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Joe was born November 20, 1952, to Joe and Virgina (Hicks) Davis of Nardin, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of three children, having two older sisters Barbra Dunaway and Jane Webb. He went to school at Nardin, and then after 8th grade went to school in Blackwell. Joe graduated from Northern Oklahoma College and then went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he met many lifelong friends that were incredibly important to him.

Joe was married in 1978 and they made their home in Blackwell, OK. They had a child, Travis, in 1981. Joe was an involved father and took great pride in being taking part in 4-H, FFA, and church youth group trips. One of the most memorable trips was in the Nardin United Methodist Church van taking kids from the 4-H club to the Farm Show at Enid.

Joe loved his son and would often tell him, "aren't you the pride of the prairie." Joe passed on to him the importance of being a good friend and neighbor, how to find places with the best pie, and the importance of getting an education.

Joe leaves behind: his son, Travis Davis, his two sisters Barbra Dunaway and Jane Webb, and many nieces and nephews, all whom he loved and will dearly miss him.

Honorary Casketbearers are Dub Dunaway, Toby Webb, Doby Webb, and Davis Webb.

Donation's may be made in Joe's honor to the Mt. Olive Cemetery Association.
