Michael Ray Watson, 51, of Ponca City, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Ponca City. Michael was born on December 18, 1960 in Edmond, OK to Terry and Sharon Kelley Watson. Michael grew up in Ponca City and after his 17th birthday, he enlisted in the US ARMY. After his tour of duty was over, Michael was discharged and within a short time, he enlisted in the US Marines having a total of 14 years of military and reserve service. After his discharge, he became a personal trainer and had lived in Carlsbad, CA for twenty years and recently moved back to Ponca City.
Michael loved the game of Rugby where he played several years on a local team in Ponca City and also on the Armed Forces Rugby Team. Michael also loved riding motorcycles with his California friends.
He was preceded in death by all four grandparents including his beloved MamMa Maxyne Kelley, Uncles Patrick Kelley and Bob Hand.
Michael is survived by his son Clifton Stephens of Edmond, Father Terry Watson of Ponca City, Mother and Step Father Sharon and Mike Stephens of Ponca City. Brother and SisterInLaw John and Cindy Watson of Ponca City. Adoptive brothers and sisters Albert and Inez Stephens, Riley Stephens, Krystle Stephens, Katie and Blake Plunkett all of Ponca City and Melissa Bagshaw of Sapulpa, OK. Aunts and Uncles Kitty and Mark Russell of Ponca City, Carmen Kelley of Edmond, Tom Hand, Jim Hand, David and Kendra Stephens and Alex and Sharon Stephens. His companion Sharon DeYoung of Carlsbad, CA and his beloved Weimaraners Gunner and Keke.
Memorial services will by 2:00 p.m. Friday, August, 10, 2012 at Longwood Baptist Church. Inurnment will be in the Longwood Cemetery.
