Ronald Kenneth Lewis, age 78, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on March 4, 2017. He was born in Ponca City, OK on May 1, 1939 to late Ira and Venita Lewis. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Andrew Lewis, Dylan Lewis, Kenneth Vice, Rene Gardea, Cliff Lewis, Kenny Lewis, Gerald Arrington, and Keith Inskeep. Honorary Casketbearer will be Mike Newcomb. A wake service will be held at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Ronald graduated from Ponca City High School in 1957 and attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK. He served his country for 39 years of honorable service in the U.S. Army with 2 years of active duty. He was a Chief Warrant Officer (CW4) in U.S. Army Reserve and was employed with Civil Service as the Military Personnel Officer for the 95th Division for 38 years, retiring in 1995. He married Josephine Crisp at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City, OK on January 24, 1963. and they would have been married 54 years.
Ronald was a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Elks Association and was exhaulted Ruler of the Ponca City, OK Lodge in 1976. He also was active in the National Association of (NARFE) and was the service officer of the state organization. Ronald is presently a member of Immaculate Conception.
His survivors include his wife, Jo; one son, Charles Lewis and wife Susan, of Cumming, GA; and daughter, Lori Vice and husband Mark of Yukon, OK; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Edgecomb of Oklahoma City, OK.
