John (Johnny) Lewis longtime Ponca City resident passed away Wednesday morning, November 6, 2019 in Ponca City. He was 78 years of age. John was born September 22, 1941 in Ponca City to Dorr Lewis and Nina Watson Lewis.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 in the Longwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 8, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel.
Johnny grew up in Ponca City and lived in Missouri from 1964 to 2007 when he moved back to the family homestead. Johnny married the love of his life Lillian Hibbs on February 3, 1989 in Rolla, Missouri and they made their home in Missouri. Johnny could build a house from the ground up with his own two hands, he was a farmer, horseman, craftsman, and a team roping champion. He was an incredibly smart, witty, generous, kind and respected by anyone that knew him. He enjoyed teasing and pestering all his loved ones. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivor include; wife Lillian of the Home, children; Marty Lewis of Eldridge, MO, Lori Hall and husband Don of Lebanon, MO, Eric Norman and wife Marcia, Melanie Barker and husband JR. and Kristen Fowler and husband Jeff. Grandchildren; Steffanie Griffin, Cindy King, Brittany Chodes, Lanie Barker, Austin Barker, Shane Norman, Landon Hall, Cherie Moore, Zack Haring, Paige Haring, Mikaylea Hall and Andren Hall Great Grandchildren; Kaden, Asher, Talia, Benet, Logan, Levi, Hadley, Hayes, Kyle, Saylor. 3 brothers; Leon Lewis and wife Doris of Wichita, KS, Calvin Lewis and wife Delora of Ponca City, OK, David Lewis and wife Nina of Drummons, TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Son; Charles Lewis, 2 sisters; Laverna Ariett, Naomi Chartier, 4 brothers; Donald Lewis, Dale Lewis, Ernie Lewis and Garland Lewis.
