Hal Hendrickson

Hal Hendrickson, longtime rural Ponca City resident, passed Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Shawn Manor Nursing Center. He was 81 years of age.

Hal was born November 30, 1931 at Uncas, Oklahoma, the son of Clifford Wesley Hendrickson and Florence (McClung) Hendrickson. He attended the Ponca City Public Schools. Hal served his country in the United States Air Force. He was married to Joan Pearce on Christmas day, 1951 in Kaw City.

In addition to his farming, Hal was employed in earlier years with Edwards Equipment Company of Ponca City and the Wetmore Manufacturing Company of Tonkawa. He then began his own bull dozer and conservation business.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home; one son, Charlie Hendrickson and wife, Thomasine, of Ponca City; one brother, Don Hendrickson and wife, Barbara, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Ashley Hendrickson, Brett Hendrickson, Thomas Hendrickson, Tanner Hendrickson, Beau Hendrickson, Melody Bradley and husband, Tim, Lisa Murphy and husband, Jace, Jennifer Vaughn and husband, Steven, and Matt Hendrickson; five great grandchildren, Janessa Rainville, Landon Hendrickson, Jordan Hendrickson, Wesley Vaughn and William Vaughn; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Hendrickson of Ponca City; numerous other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mark Steven Hendrickson and James Hendrickson, and one sister, Shirley Ware.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Longwood Cemetery with Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church pastor, Sharon Cochran, presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be designated to the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, in care of Grace Memorial Chapel, 2016 North 14th Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
