Billy Church, age 88, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away November 15, 2019, at his home with his family beside him.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at 10:00 in the morning, at Longwood Cemetery, with Chaplin Mike Sweetman officiating.
Billy was born on April 4, 1931, in rural Caddo County, on a farm, to Willie Church and Etta (Tyrell) Church. Billy attended school in Binger, Oklahoma, and enjoyed living on the farm after graduating. He went to the Army in 1952, attending basic training in Fort Bliss, Texas. He was stationed at White Sands, New Mexico, in Guided Missiles. Billy was discharged in January of 1955. After discharge, he spent 34 years with OG&E Power Plant Construction. When he retired from OG&E, Billy enjoyed farming and raising cattle. Billy married Darla Reynolds on August 2, 1954, in Watonga, Oklahoma. They had two daughters, Debra Church, and Donna (Church) Malone.
Survivors include his wife, Darla Church of the home; two daughters, Debra Church and Donna (Monty) Malone; grandchildren, Corey White and Kari White; great-grandchildren Dalton White, Romie Rau, and Sarah White. He is also survived by many wonderful neighbors and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Casketbearers will be J.R. Youngblood, Cecil Koehn, Bryan Overman, Mark Greer, Troy Lester, and Barry Stracener.
