Lula Pauline Cleaver Carter, 93, passed away on September 7, 2017.
Lula Pauline was born in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to Freddie and Edith Bryant Cleaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ran B. Carter, brothers Buford Cleaver and Robert (Bob) Cleaver, and grandson Jason Carter.
She is survived by her sons Jimmy Carter (Mary) of Pueblo West, Colo., Freddie Carter of Peyton, Colo., Dr. Jerry Carter (Cynthia) of Bartlesville, Okla. and sister Lula Proctor (David “Buddy”) of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandsons Tristan Carter, Jeremy Carter and Mark Carter and great grandchildren Dylan, Olivia, Kaden, Arabella, Arya and Brinley; sisters-in-law Zerlene Cleaver and Lona Maye Boren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pauline was a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Master of Education and taught in the Ponca City, Okla. public school system. She was a long-time resident of Ponca City, retiring to Cookson, Okla. then to Bartlesville, Okla. She moved to Pueblo, Colo. in 2014 to live with son Jimmy and wife Mary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at Central Baptist Church in Ponca City, with Rev. Waterloo to officiate. Interment will follow afterward at Longwood Cemetery.
In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzhiemer’s Association, Central Baptist Church, or the New Century Hospice of Colorado. Online condolences may be left at www.troutfuneralhome.com or www.MontogemerySteward.com.
