Evelyn Crews Abel, 91, of Ponca City, passed away Sunday March 3, 2013 in Tulsa. 
Evelyn was born on October 27, 1921 in Mounds, OK to Alonzo Odor and Maud Annalee (Campbell) Crews. She was raised and went to school in Blackwell. Evelyn married Clifford Abel on July 23, 1938 in Seminole, OK. They lived in many interesting places because of his employment as a country school principal. They moved to Ponca City in 1954. 
Evelyn was a homemaker, loved to work with her flowers and garden and was a member of First Assembly of God Church. 
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, great-grandson Samuel Butler, 3 sisters; Catherine Anderson Walker, Vera Marie Bruce, Rosalie Coley, brother Lloyd “Jack” Wesley Crews, 2 step-brothers; Sherman Crews and Edward Crews. 
Evelyn is survived by her children; Roger and Becky Abel of Ponca City, Ellis and Kay Abel of Enid and Deanna Barrett of Tulsa. 2 sisters; Pauline Crews and Carolyn Dempewolf both of Ponca City. 8 Grandchildren; Julie Kirk, Annette Abel, Holly Abel, Jason Abel, Daniel Abel, Allison Allensworth, Rhett Butler and James Butler. 11 Great Grandchildren. 
Family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Grace Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013 at the First Christian Church of Ponca City with Rev. Larry Metzger officiating. Casket Bearers will be Jason Abel, Daniel Abel, Rhett Butler, James Butler, Rick Allensworth and Jacob Lewis. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery. 
Memorial Contributions may be made to Clarehouse Hospice, 7617 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK 74133.
