James Robert Munger, 82, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 23, 2025 and 9:00 AM until service time on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 24, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Stanton officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Longwood Cemetery. Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony, may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 1:45 PM. Jim was born on Friday, August 7, 1942, in Great Bend, KS, to Thomas Orrin Munger, Jr. and Eleanor (Rosa) Munger. He attended schools in Kansas and Oklahoma, graduating from Enid High School. He later attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from Phillips University, where he also eared a Master's of Business Administration. On July 30, 1966, he married Carolyn Gritz. He was also a veteran of the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He also owned and operated Munger Accounting Service, and retired from the Conoco Accounting Department after 33 years.
Jim is survived by: his wife, Carolyn of the home; sons, John Robert Munger and his wife, Malena, of Ponca City, OK, James Thomas Munger and his wife, Melinda, of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Taylor Straight and her husband, Holden, of Wichita, KS, Sydney Munger of Jenks, OK, Noah Woodward of Stillwater, OK, Makenna Weithman and her husband, Jack, of Houston, TX, Gage Munger of Golden , CO, Cole Munger of Katy, TX; great-grandchildren, Decker and Carter Straight; brother, Orrin Munger of Enid, OK; and several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Lain
