Patricia Jean Walters was born July 31 in “Old” Kaw City, the daughter of Temple McQuirk and Lorene Mcquirk-Gingerich. She went to be with her loved ones on June 22, 2017.

Patricia's family moved to Texas and later to Western Kansas where she met and married John Walters. They had twin boys, James & John, and a daughter, Rebecca.

She owned and operated several retail businesses including La Cage of Garden City and The Bridal Boutique of Ponca City. While living in Dallas, she worked at the Dallas Apparel Mart and designed western clothes. When she moved back to Ponca City, she held several tribal administrative positions with several local tribes. She was a realtor, a writer for a local magazine, and her final position was bookkeeper/receptionist for Thompson Oil Company where she worked for over 10 years with her daughter, Rebecca. The two worked several jobs side by side.

Patricia was very engaged in Politics. She loved fashion, jewelry, watching westerns, talking about movie stars, musicians, and sports cars. She also enjoyed sharing the stories and adventures of her life, in particular, her German Shepherd, Funny. She liked to speak of the adventures she and Funny shared through the streets of “Old” Kaw City, where she swore to be able to identify where the streets were, to this day. Patricia will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sparks, Dr. Kaspar, and all of the medical staff at Alliance Health of Ponca City for the most compassionate care.

Patricia is survived by her children, James and Karen Walters of Hagerman, ID, Rebecca and Joe Roquemore of Ponca City, her brother, Brent and LouWayne Mcquirk of Arlington, Tx, her grandchildren, Jenny Walters of San Francisco, CA, Dana Coyne of Ponca City, Libby Walters of Seattle, WA, Johnny Walters of Phoenix, AZ, and Krista Roquemore and family of Tonkawa, Ok.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Walters, her sister, Dawna Martin, her brother Temple McQuirk, and both of her parents.

A graveside service will be held at Kaw City Cemetery at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Viewing will be at Trout Funeral Home from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, June 25, 2017, and 8:00am to 8:00pm, Monday, June 26, 2017.
