S.D. Sears, 87, of Shidler, OK, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Ponca City Medical Center.
S.D. was born April 5, 1926 in Webb City, OK to Charles Preston and Leona (Clapp) Sears. Living in the Webb City and Shidler area most of his life, he attended the Webb City and Shidler Schools. He entered the US Army serving from 1944-1947.
He was a member of the Webb City Church of God, enjoyed cowboying and bull riding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Cecil and Eugene, Sister-Faye Punches and an infant sister.
He was married to Betty Jean Simmons on October 25, 2008 in Newkirk, OK.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; one son, L.D. Sears, Springdale, Arkansas, daughter-Janie Robinson and husband Richard of Shidler City, OK, brother, Bert Sears of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sisters; Beatrice Gregory of Chandler, OK and Leona Mae McDonald of Tracy, CA. 3 Grandchildren; Dallas Sears, Andrea Schatz and Leann Culp. 6 Great grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Webb City Church of God with Rev. Doug Scott and Rev. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery of Kaw City. Casket Bearers will be; Charley Kiser, Earl Kiser, Levi Kiser, Lyle Kiser, Randy Cummins, Garyon Sears and Keven Sears. Honorary casket bearers will be; Richard Robinson, Charles Knight, Tony Knight and John Quaid.
