Bobby G. Center longtime Shidler resident went home to be with the lord Wednesday morning May 4, 2016 in Stillwater, OK. He was born on July 22, 1928 in Webb City, OK to Alger ''Blondie'' Center and Elizabeth I. Bourassa Center. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 7, 2016 in the Grandview Cemetery of Kaw City, OK with Pastor Chester Ward of First Baptist Church in Shidler officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City.
Bobby grew up in Shidler and he attended Shidler schools and graduated from Shidler. He was a member of the Shidler First Baptist Church. Bobby served a tour of duty in the U S Army Air Corp during WWII and after his service returned to Shidler area. He met Eva Mae Crain and on December 24, 1952 they were married. Bobby worked as a Lab Tech for Conoco for a number of years. He enjoyed taking short travels in the car, Do it yourself projects, Golf and he was an avid OU Football fan.
Survivors include: 1 daughter; Jackie Bruner and husband Eddie of Choctaw, OK; grandchildren; Katina Bruner of Choctaw, OK Brandon Bruner and wife Gretchen of Norman, OK Jacob Bruner and wife Esther of Owasso, OK great grandchildren: Lee Bruner, Madeline Bruner, Lyla Bruner and Eden Bruner. Also surviving is a special cousin; Betty Hancock of Kansas City, KS and several nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Wife in April of 2013, 1 son; Joe Center and 1 brother; Bill Center.
The family wishes to thank the Shidler community for their help after the passing of Eva Mae and to Dean Crain for his lifelong friendship to Bobby and his many acts of kindness he provided.
