Bertha Evelyn Adair, of Ponca City, passed away on August 9, 2021. She was 85 years of age.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, OK with Rev. Thomas Howard officiating. Arrangements will be under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Bertha was born June 16, 1936, to Charles and Mary (Rice) Baker in Carter Nine Camp, OK.
She was a 1954 graduate of Shidler High School. Bertha and Jim Adair were married on July 31, 1954 and made their home in Shidler until they moved to Ponca City in 2005. She operated the Adair Variety Store for many years and was active in the golf association, Library volunteers and election board. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, birdwatching, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shidler.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jim; two sons, Mark Adair of Denison, TX and Barton Adair and wife, Carla of Stillwater, OK; four grandchildren, Lauren (Adair) Myers and husband Paul, Leann (Adair) Mendenhall and husband, Cody; Hayden Adair and Kaleah Adair; four great grandchildren, Landen, Bennett and Katie Myers and Cora Mendenhall.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donnie Baker.
Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview, Ponca City, OK 74601.
