J.D. "Pete" Bland of Shidler, Oklahoma left this life February 1, 2022, at the age of 84 in Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK to meet with the love of his life, wife Patty Joyce in heaven.
Pete is survived by his children Linda Davis of Ponca City, Ok; Andrew Tubbs and wife Sally of Red Rock, Ok; Paul Tubbs and wife Debbie of Hulbert, Ok; Jody Porter and husband Wayne of Skiatook, Ok; Jay Bland and wife Faye Bland of Taloga, Ok; 9 grand-children; 15 great grand-children and numerous family and friend.
Pete was born August 4, 1937, to Doyce Avery and Mary Anna (Eberlye) Bland in Shidler, Ok at the NBU camp. Pete was the youngest of three children, having two older sisters Doris and Joan. Pete grew up in Burbank, OK with a love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
On February 2, 1959, he married the love of his life Patty Joyce Clark Tubbs. Together they had two children Jorenna Sue and Jay Doyce. Patty brought to this union of marriage three children: Linda Kay, Carl Andrew, and Paul Raymond.
Pete worked for Kewanee Oil Co. Cameron, Gulf, Chevron, Hyperion, and retired from Lamamco Oil at 61 years of age. The joys of Pete’s life were his grandchildren, fishing, and hunting. Pete and Patty enjoyed much time at the family cabin in Grove, OK cat fishing.
Pete's services will be graveside at the Grand View Cemetery in Kaw City, Ok Tuesday February 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Griffith officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 7 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.
Family has asked in lieu of flowers donations to be sent to Shidler Fire Department.
