Linda Sue Tipton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday evening, August 29, 2020, in Integris Baptist – Enid at the age of 80 years.
Linda Sue Tipton was born on November 19, 1939, in Blackwell to Richard Emmett and Thelma Eugene (Arthurs) Scott. She attended Braman Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1958. Following her education she married Robert C. “Bob” Tipton on July 9, 1958, in Braman and they settled there where she served her family as a homemaker. She was extremely proud to be married to a twenty two year veteran of the United States Air Force. The couple later moved to Blackwell to make their home.
She was an active member of Bethesda Assembly of God Church in Blackwell and the Braman American Legion Auxiliary. The couple enjoyed traveling the United States from coast to coast and north into Canada. She loved to cook, crochet and create pencil drawings. She also enjoyed sewing her grandchildren various clothing items.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Tipton of Blackwell; children, Debra Brooks and husband James of Blackwell, Ramona Fry of Canton, Ohio, Laura Lewis and husband David of Stillwater, and Jaunita Pierce and husband Stephen of Coyle; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Butch Scott.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 2nd in the Bethesda Assembly of God in Blackwell with Rev. Lonnie Rutherford of Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Memorials have been established in her honor with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
