Silver Rites set Wednesday
Claud O. Silver retired area farmer died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday in Blackwell General Hospital. He was 87. His home was 205 E. Padon.
The funeral has been set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Roberts and Son chapel.
Rev. Wayne Tremble, pastor of the First Christian Church of Braman, will officiate. Burial will be in the Braman Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Aubrey Kelle, Ralph Naylor, Lawrence Ferneau, Don Meeker, Bob Yunker, and Robert McMillian.
A memorial in Mr. Silver's memory has been established at the First Christian Church of Blackwell where he was a member of Class 13. He also belonged to Modern Woodman of America. Contributions may be left at the church office or the funeral home.
Mr. Silver was a native of northern Oklahoma, born Jan. 4, 1888 in Hunnewell, Kansas. He came from there to a farm west of Braman and spent most of his life in the Braman area.
He married Ethel Smith on Feb. 28, 1912 in the home of her parents west of Braman. The couple settled on a farm and lived there for many years. Mrs. Silver died Oct. 3, 1964 and after her death Mr. Silver continued to live on the farm until 1969 when he moved into town.
Survivors are one son, Leland C. Silver, Oklahoma City, a granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Gates of Wichita and two great granddaughters.
