Elmer Martin Shoffner was born near Braman, April 9, 1908, died July 17, 1921, aged 13 years, two months, eight days. He was a regular attendant of the Methodist Sunday school and church until sickness overtook him. He is gone but not forgotten and his place can never be filled, but it is blessed and comforting to know that he had lived his few days right and that his soul is in the hands of a Just and Loving God.

He leaves to mourn their loss a father, mother, three sisters, two brothers: Opal, Lawrence, Ivan, Clythel, Uta Lee, one grandmother and a number of relatives and a host of friends
