ENID — Cleo Quillin entered into the gates of Heaven June 7, 2013.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Lamont United Methodist
Church. Graveside service will follow at Braman Cemetery. Visitation will be
noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
He was born February 17, 1917, in Sumner County, Kan., to the proud parents
of Joseph and Inez.
Cleo was the oldest of four siblings, Paul, Wayne and Beulah Mae. He
attended grade school in the country, north of Deer Creek, Okla. He
graduated high school at Blackwell, Okla.
He was wed to his bride, Barbara Elethe Heizer, February 16, 1941. They were
married 72 years.
He started his career at a co-op in Ponca City and then moved to Salt Fork
and managed the elevator for Clyde Co-op. He retired from Clyde after 32
years of service. During his career, he also was the mayor of Lamont, and
the usher for Lamont United Methodist Church. Cleo and Barbara bought their
first farm in 1958. Throughout the years they acquired seven quarters of
farm land. Farming was his love, his passion and his way of life. He will be
missed.
The loved ones who still remain are his wife, Barbara, of the home; Joan
Quillin, daughter-in-law; foster son, Charles McNeil and wife Cheryl;
grandchildren, Michael and wife Keri and Gregory and wife Julie; and seven
great-grandchildren.
He joined loved ones including his parents, Joseph and Inez, and his
children, David and Duane.
Memorials may be sent on his behalf to Lamont United Methodist Church and
Hospice Circle of Love, Enid, Okla.

Barbara Quillin, 98, went to her heavenly home on September 6, 2017.
The service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at the Lamont United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Riggs officiating. Interment follows in the Braman Cemetery, in Braman, Okla.
Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Okla.
Barbara was born in rural Grant County near Deer Creek at her grandmother's home on June 15, 1919, to Herbert and Eunice ((Elmore) Heizer.
She served her Lord, her family and her community. She graduated from Deer Creek High School in the class of 1937, and was the class Valedictorian. Barbara worked as a photographer's helper.
Barbara married Cleo Quillin on Feb. 18, 1941. They resided in Ponca City after they were married.
They moved to Cleo's parents homestead in Salt Fork for 18 years. They lived in Lamont for 36 years. After Cleo retired, they farmed in Grant County. Barbara and Cleo moved to Golden Oaks in November 2001.
Barbara loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, photography, quilting, farming, gardening and flowers.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cleo Quillin; two sons, Duane Leon Quillin and David Lynn Quillin; granddaughter, Sherry Marie Quillin; brother, Elmore Heizer; and sisters, Elsie Heizer Rea and Geneva Heizer Murrison.
Barbara is survived by her two grandsons, Michael Quillin, and Gregory and Julie Quillin; four great-grandchildren, Kyla, Brody, Morgan and Madison; daughter-in-law, Joan Quillin.
Memorials may be made to the Lamont United Methodist Church.
