Brenda Sue Newland of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, September 17, 2019, in AllianceHealth – Ponca City at the age of 75 years.
Brenda Sue Newland was born on March 9, 1944, in Salt Fork, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Leota Vera (Kelly) Ingmire. She attended school in Blackwell and following her education she began working at the Oklahoman Restaurant in Braman. She later worked at Bob’s Grill in Blackwell. In 1972 she began working in housekeeping on the fourth floor at the Blackwell Regional Hospital and worked there until 1991 when she began working for Southwest Cupid. She married Ernest Merle Newland on July 20, 1996, in Blackwell and she continued working for Cupid as a clothing examiner. She retired in 2005. Her husband preceded her in death on October 21, 2003. In 2019 she moved to Ponca City to live with family. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Blackwell and enjoyed working crossword and word search puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Ingmire of Blackwell; two step-sons, Ernie Newland of Ponca City and Merle Newland of Wisconsin; a sister, Lexie Foudray of Blackwell; a grandson, Nathan Ingmire of Ponca City; ten step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Merton Ingmire.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. John Jack officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Nathan Ingmire, Dustin Beard, Poly Mora and Steven Randall.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the House of Prayer in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
