Laura Lynn Holmes, 53, of Blackwell, passed away on December 25, 2019 at her home.

She was born on March 2, 1966 in Blackwell, the daughter of Russell Travis Holmes and Carolyn (Tickel) Holmes.

She attended Blackwell Public Schools, and graduated from Braman High School in 1985.

Laura worked many different jobs over the years, and was very dedicated and hardworking. She enjoyed being a caregiver to others.

She loved playing poker, OU Football, The Dallas Cowboys, and above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She married Rick Cole, they later divorced.

She is survived by mother, Carolyn Sennett (Nelson); children, Heather Looper (Joe), Rikki Cole, Wade Butzback; sisters, Leslie Holmes (Wallace Schatz), Tammy Holmes, Danielle Sennett; grandchildren, Joey Looper, Shooter Looper, Chase Andrews, and Chevy Glass.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, James and JoAnn Tickel and Harold and Hazel Holmes; and a brother, Travis Holmes.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Blackwell with Chad Short officiating. Burial will follow at Braman Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Max Schuermann, Carson Turner, Karston Lovall, Devon Harrison, Christian Cox and Tony Thomas. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Joey Looper, Shooter Looper, Chase Andrews, Chevy Glass, Joe Looper, Jebo Brown, Darrel Brown, Nina Seay and Robert and Nancy Caskey.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital sent in c/o of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
