OBITUARY
Medford---Funeral for Harry A. Frieouf, 91, of Medford will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Medford. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate, assisted by Revs. Ruth Tipps, Sandy Reeves Shepherd and Craig Van Deburgh. Interment will follow in Braman Cemetery. Arrangements under the directiion of Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.Harry was born May 23, 1919 on the family homestead near Renfrow, Okla., to Jerry John and Stazie Semrad Frieouf and passed from this life early Tuesday morning, Sept. 28, 2010 in Medford.He attended District 29 grade school and graduated from Medford High School in 1936 and Tulsa Business College in 1938.During World War II he worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. On July 30, 1944 he and Olive Rule were united in marriage. The couple lived in Grant County most of their married life.Harry was a wheat farmer. He loved going to auctions and playing softball. He played on most of the teams within driving distance of Renfrow, playing his last game at the age of 82. He enjoyed singing and had sung at more than 100 funerals. He was part of a quartet, Three Jerks and a Skirt, that sang on Radio KFH in Wichita.On July 15, 1990, Harry and June M. Hodges Hayes were married in Medford. The couple made their home in Medford.Harry was a member of Renfrow United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer for many years. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge and Medford Lions Club. He had served on Clyde Co-op Board, Farm Bureau Board and had been involved in the Kay Electric Cooperative.
