Lucille Frances (Clark) Young, longtime Blackwell resident, died Saturday evening, May 25, 2013 at the Ponca City Medical Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years old.
Lucille Frances Young was born April 29, 1926 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Nelson and Lucy Clark. She attended grade school in Tonkawa, and junior and senior high school in Blackwell.
On May 24, 1943, she married Phillip Ralph Young in Newkirk, and they began farming following his discharge from the Army on the family farm located two miles south of Blackwell, where they celebrated 61 years of marriage. She enjoyed going to New Mexico and OSU wrestling matches with her husband. After her husband death she moved to Ponca City.
Lucille is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Stidham-Jordan and husband Bob of Blackwell; one son, Patrick Clark Young and wife Carla of Ponca City; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Young of Blackwell; three grandsons, Phillip Stidham of Bartlesville, Kevin Young of Independence, Kansas, and Christopher Young of Blackwell, two granddaughters, Kimberly Young of Ponca City and Caitlin Harris of Shreveport, Louisiana, and four great grandchildren, Cody Stidham of Greenland, Arkansas, Lexi and Chloe Young of Broken Arrow and Connor Shouots of Shreveport, Louisiana .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, one son, Michael Phillip Young; and one son-law, Bob Stidham.
Graveside services will be held at the Blackwell Cemetery Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
