Blackwell Cemetery

Lola Nellie (Robertson) Newland
February 28, 1886 - Aug 6, 1945

Lola Nellie (Robertson) Newland was born along with her twin sister Lula Nelvia Robertson to Emma Jane (Cockrell) and James Henry Walker Robertson in Concordia, Kansas. She came to Oklahoma in 1893 with her parents who staked out land east of Lamont. She had lived in Blackwell since 1916.

She married Chauncy Dutton and they had two children: Juanita (Dutton) Jenkins and Ted Jenkins. She then married Charles A. Newland and they had daughters: Ila Izora "Dot", Dena C, and Celia Gwedolen "Nonie." They also had sons: Charles Mordecai "Mortic", James Henry, Byron Ruel "Tude", Merle Walter "Mutt", Burle C., and Dick G. All of her children survived her.

Also surviving her are her sisters: Lula N. Dyas, Izora Brock, Amanda McBride, and Celia Wells, and one brother James Osie. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers William Mordecai Robertson and Amos Matthew Robertson.

This is an obituary that I have written for my great-grandmother.
