Cecil Dean McClarnon, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Friday morning, November 2, 2018, in the Brookdale Living Center in Stillwater at the age of 71 years.

Cecil Dean McClarnon was born on May 5, 1947, in Blackwell to William Alva and Bonnie Jean (Davis) McClarnon. He grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1965. Following high school he entered the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he attended Oklahoma State University and received a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management. He managed several restaurants in Oklahoma. In the early 1980’s he returned to Blackwell and began working as a postal clerk at the Ponca City Post Office and retired in 2001. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and also attended the House of Prayer. He loved dogs and cars and spending time with family.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Kelley of Tulsa, and Shanna Carter of Ann Arbor, Michigan; a sister, Susie McAlister of Jet; and a granddaughter, Emma Grace Kelley of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Eugene McClarnon; and a sister, Peggy Jean McClarnon.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Tom Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his honor with Samaritan’s Purse in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
