Janice Belle London of Blackwell, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, December 19, 2012, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years.

Janice Belle London was born on June 12, 1929, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Harry and Lillian (Smith) Klingman. She grew up in Okeene and graduated from Okeene High School in 1947. She furthered her education by attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater receiving a bachelors degree in business. While at Oklahoma State she married Merlin Edward London on July 26, 1948, in Okeene and she served her family as a homemaker. She later received her master’s degree in business also from O.S.U. Her teaching career included Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa, Stillwater Public Schools and teaching business courses at Oklahoma State University where she retired. Following retirement they moved to Blackwell in 1988 and her husband preceded her in death on November 10, 1990. While in college she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She also held membership in the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her beloved dogs, maintaining an impeccable yard and watching her grandchildren excel in sports and academics.

She is survived by two sons, Terry London and wife Nancy of Dallas, Texas, and Dr. Bobby London of Tonkawa; four grandchildren, Chase London and wife Ai, Chelsea London, Elizabeth Wooderson and husband Grady, and Brock London; two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Julian London; and a half-sister, Dr. Sandy Windsor.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Florence Smith who raised Janice most of her life, and a half-brother, Mike Klingman.

A private family memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 21st in the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Janice Sharp of the First United Methodist Church in Tonkawa officiating. Burial followed in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Christmas for Kids Program in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
