Stephen "DeWayne" Lute
October 31, 1940 - February 19, 2023
Stephen "DeWayne" Lute, age 82, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away February 19, 2023 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Christ's Church in Blackwell with Harold Hutchins officiating. DeWayne will be laid to rest at Blackwell Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
DeWayne was born on October 31, 1940, in Peckham, Oklahoma, to Stephen and Evelyn (Marr) Lute. DeWayne grew up in the Newkirk area, graduating from Newkirk High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. DeWayne retired as a foundry worker at CFM in Blackwell.
Survivors include: his wife, Katie Lute; daughters, Veronica Spillman and husband, Marty, Sabrina Barnes and husband, Chad; son, Stephen Lute and wife, Angie; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Melissa Stiles and Connie Bachar.
DeWayne is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Marietta; brother, Larry Fultz; brother-in-law, Percy Stiles; and niece, Lynn Stiles.
Casket bearers will be Kenny Stiles, Chester Pope, Mark Freeman, Roy Hurst, Darin Wright, and Ronnie Williams. We invite you to leave a message of condolence, expression of sympathy or perhaps share a memory of Stephen at www.troutfunerahome.com.
