Bernie Judd, age 85, of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Blackwell Cemetery.
Bernie was born on July 24, 1933 in Hamilton, Ohio to Edward Bernie and Lillian (Watkins) Judd. He was married to Bonnie Atwell in February 1964, in Pasadena, Texas. As a young man Bernie raced cars and later worked as a mechanic for Houston Lighting and Power Company. He proudly served his country in the US Navy on the USS Howard D Crow. Bernie enjoyed the outdoors and took his family camping and hunting regularly. Hunting trips were filled with stories and laughter shared with families of his dear friends he gained while in the Navy. Bernie later enjoyed his hobby by owning and operating San Jacinto Sporting Goods in Pasadena, TX. He was a long time member of the National Rifle Association. After retirement, Bernie and Bonnie moved to Blackwell, OK where they found a new host of friends. Bernie worshiped at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; son, John Judd of Mulvane, Kansas; daughter, Shiela Wheeler and her husband, Jess of Raytown, Missouri; grandchildren; James Judd and Judd Wheeler; several nieces, nephews; family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters; Margaret Jane, Beulah May and Martha Mary Louise.
