July 29, 1947 - July 10, 2020

God reached His loving hand out to Michael D. Husted on July 10, 2020.

Mike was born to James and Hazel Husted July 29, 1947.

He attended Blackwell Public Schools through graduation. He spent 4 years with U.S. Air Force and returned to Blackwell for employment. For a short while Mike served as Asst. Manager at Dillon’s Grocery in Ponca City. His life took a sad turn when he required brain surgery leaving him disabled. He took his independence seriously enough to learn to talk and walk again. Mike absolutely insisted on doing everything for himself and doing it his way. He was kind, respectful and mostly stubborn to the Nth degree.

He is survived by brother Jimmy of Oklahoma City, OK; sister Darla (Richard) Aytes of Newcastle, OK; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by parents; a sister, Lynda (Jack) Stacey of AL; niece, Dara Aytes; and nephew, Chad Aytes. God bless America.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Blackwell Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, sent in c/o the funeral home.
