Kenneth Leroy Hergenrader Jr. died Sunday afternoon, March 28, 2021, at his home in Ponca City at the age of 53 years.
Kenneth Leroy Hergenrader was born on October 3, 1967, in Mitchell, Nebraska, to Kenneth Leroy and Marilyn Rae (Verry) Hergenrader Sr. He grew up in Nebraska and attended Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. Following his education he worked as a mechanic and for Anderson News in Lincoln. On June 19, 1992, he married Joleen Lewis in Lincoln. They later moved to Blackwell where Kenneth became self-employed, working as a vendor at various flea markets in Oklahoma. The couple moved to Ponca City to make their home. Kenneth enjoyed playing poker, fishing, camping, and attending garage sales and flea markets. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, and joking around with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joleen Hergenrader of Ponca City; children, April Hergenrader of Ponca City, Alycia Price and John Whicker of Blackwell, and Tyler Hergenrader and wife Tiffany of Ponca City; grandchildren, Kodi Price of Blackwell, Maci Townley of Ponca City, Mackenzie Hergenrader of Ponca City, Kyler Whicker of Blackwell, Kaylene Whicker of Blackwell, and Lynleigh Hergenrader of Ponca City; a sister, Virginia Rutt of Lincoln, Nebraska; two brothers, John Banks of California, and Michael Banks of Oklahoma; his mother-in-law, Linda Corning of Linn Creek, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his father-in-law, Butch Corning.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1st in the Blackwell Cemetery with James W. Roberts officiating. Serving as casketbearers will be Tyler Hergenrader, John Whicker, Ericka Rutt, David Lewis and Zach Lewis.
A memorial has been established in his honor to the Kenneth Hergenrader Memorial Fund in c/o Joleen Hergenrader, 326 S. Franklin Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
