Don Warren Henry of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning, November 2, 2014, in the Ponca City Nursing Home at the age of 81 years.
Don Warren Henry was born on November 3, 1932, in Blackwell to Alfred Don and Beulah Cordelia (Epperly) Henry. He grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1951. Following his education he entered the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Opal Daisy Loveall on December 20, 1951, and they made Blackwell their home. Following his discharge he returned to Blackwell and began working for the Blackwell Zinc Company where he worked for twenty years. He later worked as a mechanic for Bagby Motor Company for several years before his retirement. He also worked with his wife as custodians of The Tabernacle. His wife preceded him in death on August 23, 1998, and he continued to Blackwell his home. He was a member of The Tabernacle and the Blackwell American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his church family.
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Morgan of Ponca City, Cathy Henry of Blackwell, and Donna Stenger of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Carl Henry and Larry Henry both of Blackwell; a sister, Stella Henry of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Bobby Henry of Wichita, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Henry; a daughter, Cheryl Eakins; and several brothers and sisters.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 7th in The Tabernacle with Rev. Robert and Cliff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jimmy Mooring, Matt Mooring, Jordan Mooring, Tom Eakins, Aaron Morgan and Bob Crandall.
