June 16, 1941 - December 25, 2022

Robert Glen Husted died Sunday December 25, 2022 at his home in Blackwell, Oklahoma at the age of 81.

Robert (Bob) was born on June 16, 1941 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Lee C & Joyce E (Pidcock) Husted. He grew up and attended Blackwell Public Schools. On July 24th, 1959 he married Carol Jean (Inmon). He started his career working at the Blackwell Zinc Smelter. On August 30, 1961, he joined the Army National Guard and served for six years. At retirement age, he was working at Mertz Manufacturing where he was teaching welding. He spent his retirement working part time at IQ car wash. His passion was rebuilding, painting, and working on cars.

He is survived by two children Vicky Sullivan and Rob Husted (Stacey) of Blackwell; two sisters, Joyce Pingry of Kildare and Mary Lyons of Okmulgee; five grandsons; Seth Sullivan, Sean Sullivan (Melody), Blake, Braden and Bode Husted all of Blackwell; seven great grandchildren; Gage Roundtree of Cleo Springs, Ok, Kayleah Sullivan of Blackwell, Sammi, Tinley, and Huxley Sullivan of Blackwell, Oaklynn and Haven Husted of Blackwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter Shelley Husted, four sisters; Betty Parsons, Imogene Dotson, Marjorie Mitchell and Toni Geer; and three brothers, Billy, James, and Gerald Husted.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 3rd in Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the First Christian Church in Blackwell in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
