Tyra Kay Gleeson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday, March 16, 2020, at her home in Blackwell at the age of 54 years.
Tyra Kay Gleeson was born on December 1, 1965, in Hays, Kansas, to Tyree Lee and Nancy Kay (Beckley) Stuart. She grew up in Hays attending Roosevelt Elementary, Hays Junior High School and graduated from Hays High School in 1983. In 1985 she moved to Wichita where she worked for ten years at Wendy’s. She also worked as a security guard for Wells Fargo at various Conoco stations until she experienced being robbed. She married Robert Gleeson on May 21, 1986, in Wichita. She later found her soul mate, Richard Inkelaar and they made Wichita their home. He preceded her in death in 2013 and she later moved to Oklahoma to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell. She also enjoyed watching old movies, reading, solving word search puzzles, playing card and board games and taking walks.
She is survived by her two children, Amber Gleeson of Tonkawa, and Justin Stuart; two sisters, Traci Root of Andover, Kansas, and Brandi Ballard of Olathe, Kansas; and six grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services are being held with burial in Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the First Free Will Baptist Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
