March 11, 1932 - April 22, 2024
Bob Gardner, former Blackwell resident, died on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Creekside Village in Ponca City. He was 92.
Bobby Richard Gardner was born on March 11, 1932 in Oilton, OK to Connie Lee and Gladys Jewel (Holmes) Gardner.
Bob graduated from Blackwell High School, with the class of 1950.
On Jan. 19, 1952, Bob married Glenda Kathryn (Looper) in Eddy, OK. They lived in California for many years before returning to Blackwell, where he retired from working as a stock clerk in the retail grocery industry. Bob loved woodworking, gardening and loved listening to old records.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Urban of Tonkawa; son, Lee Gardner of Seal Beach, CA; grandchildren, Russell Looper and his wife Jennifer of Ponca City, Rodney Looper, Sybil Sheets and her husband Jimmie of Ponca City, Joe Looper and his wife Heather of Blackwell, Jarad Looper and his wife Crystal of Blackwell, Shyla Urban of Tonkawa, Isac Urban and his wife Daira of Tonkawa and several great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Glenda, one sister, Connie Jo Gardner; one brother, Lee Roy Gardner; grandsons, Anthony Looper and Chris Urban; granddaughter Nannie Looper; and great-granddaughter, Vivi Urban.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, April 26. 2024 in the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Cliff Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
