Mona June Dixon of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on October 26, 2019, in Blackwell at the age of 89 years.
Mona June Dixon was born on April 13, 1930, in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of John Crittenden and Orta Mae (Stalsworth) King. She grew up in the Ramona area where she attended the Ramona Public Schools graduating from the Ramona High School. Following her education, she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She married Curtis “Bob” Joe Davis on March 19, 1960, and they lived in various towns before moving to Blackwell in 1967. She later began working part time for Paul’s grill as a cashier. On December 25, 1985, Bob preceded her in death, and she continued to live in Blackwell. She later began working for Harvey’s Grocery in Blackwell. She married Junior Dixon on September 10, 1988, in Blackwell and they made their home in Blackwell. On May 2, 2018, Junior preceded her in death. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her family.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William “Bill’ King; and a sister, Roseanna Franks.
She is survived by a daughter, Ronda Cavanaugh and husband Ronnie of Blackwell; a step-daughter, Denise Felber of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a step-son, Raymond Dixon and wife Becky of Pekin, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Harshman and husband Thomas of Lewisville, Texas, Holly Earleson and husband Jeff of Morton, Illinois, Morgan Thompson and husband Jonathon of Oklahoma City, Amanda Felber of Topeka, Kansas, Sarah Felber of Topeka, Kansas, Shawn Cavanaugh and wife Kortni of Stillwater, and Curtis Cavanaugh and wife Jessi of Ponca City; and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Sam Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her memory with Humanity Hospice c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
