Betty Jo Bryant, resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was 89 years old.
Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home in Tonkawa on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 9 am to 8 pm and Thursday, June 27th from 9 am - 12 pm. A graveside ceremony for Betty Jo will be held at Blackwell Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
Betty Jo was born on July 8, 1929 to Joseph and Ruie (Kennerson) Clay in Oklahoma City, OK. When she lived in Tonkawa, she worked as a waitress at a local cafe but her main job was raising her family. She loved spending time outdoors especially to fish.
Betty is survived by her son, James Bennett of Wichita Falls, TX, grandchildren, Jennifer Bennett, Rebecca Bennett, Steven Bennett, Loquita Bennett, niece, Nancy Howell and husband David of Edmond, OK, brother, Jack Clay of Edmond, OK as well as many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Bennett, brothers, R.B. Clay and Bill Clay, sister, Eloise Ridgeway, and her parents, Joseph and Ruie.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa.
