Elizabeth J. Baldwin, 73, of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital Blackwell, Oklahoma.
She was born October 12, 1935 in Canon City, Colorado to Charles Victor and Eva Nadine (Cobb) Ertz. Graveside Services will be Friday, July 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with President Jerry Dickison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackwell Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma. Elizabeth grew up in Colorado and Kansas; graduating from Hugoton High School in Kansas and attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Throughout her life she worked as a waitress, dispatcher and assisted her husband in commercial demolition. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She liked to give to charities at the church, was an avid bird watcher, loved dogs especially her poodle mix, Cassie and her family. Her nickname was Sunshine because of her radiant smile and sparkling eyes and Grease because she was a wiry young lady.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Dollarhide of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her son, Leslie Baldwin of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her brother, Ralph V. Ertz; her sisters, Victoria A., Betty M. and Joyce I. Ertz; her grandchildren, Bobby Jr., Chad, Michelle, Brian and James Dollarhide, Daniel, John, David Baldwin, Julie Muret; numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Charles Ertz; one brother, Charles Richard "Dickie" Ertz.
Memorials may be made to Operation Smile (Providing free surgeries to children worldwide with cleft lip/palate) in care of Blackwell Funeral Home, 301 W. Blackwell, Blackwell, Oklahoma, 74631
