TISHOMINGO -- Services for William L. "Slim" Lewis Jr., 63, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Tishomingo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Gordon and Dale Perry officiating. Interment will be at Wiley Cemetery, northwest of Milburn.
Born on Jan. 4, 1942, in Milburn, Oklahoma, to W.L. and Otherine Stevenson Lewis, he died on March 8, 2005, in Coleman, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brothers.
He attended school in the Wiley and Milburn communities and was a lifelong resident of Johnston County.
He worked at Uniroyal in Ardmore for several years, retiring in 1993 due to ill health. He and Sheila Martin were married on July 2, 1989, in Milburn.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; children, William Lonnie Lewis, Justin, Texas; Ronnie Dale Lewis, Denton, Texas; Pamela Ann Gaines, Ardmore; Terry Dean Lewis, Milburn; and Garry Lynn Lewis, also of Ardmore; a stepdaughter, Amy Ponder, Ardmore; brothers, Bennie, Clarence and Thurman Lewis, Milburn; and Paul Lewis, Ardmore; three sisters, Sandra Swindell, Ardmore; Otha "Bobbie" Lewis, Wichita, Kansas; and Katherine Slaughter, Oklahoma City; and ten grandchildren.
Bearers will be Bradley Lewis, Shannon Lewis, Derrick Allen, Stacy Dowling, Willard Kemp and Tommy Winkler. Honorary bearers are Woody Williamson, Red Dean, Charles Woods, Junior Willingham, Jody Kreger and Teddy Kreger.
Visitation will be all day Friday with family hour from 7 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
