Funeral Services for LaJoy Ann (Deaton) Walker, 65, of
Collinsville, Oklahoma (formerly longtime resident of Tishomingo), will be held
on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church of
Tishomingo with Pastor Jon Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the
Tishomingo Cemetery. Mrs. Walker passed away on Saturday, April 24th, at the St.
John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
LaJoy Ann (Deaton) Walker was born in La Mesa, California on May 16, 1944. She
joined her parents, Earl Lee Deaton and Rosa Lee (Duncan) Deaton in Heaven on
April 24, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. LaJoy was a long-time resident of Tishomingo,
working for many years as a beautician, local police dispatcher and eventually
retiring from the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department. LaJoy married Dawson J.
Walker in 1982 in Allen, Texas and they both committed to love and acceptance of
a blended family. LaJoy touched many lives and was blessed with many friends.
Her survivors include, Dawson J. Walker, of the home in Collinsville, OK; a
daughter, Holly Farmer of Madill; son, Jerry Sullivan & his wife Elizabeth of
Tulsa, son, Marlon Sullivan of Collinsville, step-daughter, Patty Reid & her
husband Glen of Willis, OK, step-son, Joe Walker & his wife Loretta of Durant,
OK, step-daughter, and Becky Walker of Bakersfield, CA
LaJoy was very proud of her grandchildren, Chasi & Eddie Henry, Deana & Tony
Davis, Joseph (Quaid) & Kayla Farmer, Katie Sullivan, Kalyn & Eric Groff, Dawson
(Blake) Sullivan, Kelsey Sullivan and Collin Sullivan; great-grandchildren,
Eric, Keeley, Harley, Gunnar and Jaxon.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Tom Winkler, Dean Russell, James Gastineau,
Charlie Locke, Danny Parker and Wayne Kitchens. Honorary Bearers will be: Ted
Boston and Paul Wilson.
